Breadth is running cold into the close. Only 22% of the 10,219 stocks in our scan are flashing bull setups—2,257 against 3,027 bear setups—and the average SCTR sits at a dismal 5.2. SPY tells the same story: SCTR of 5, neutral trend, zero bull counts. This is not a market rewarding long exposure. The handful of names bucking the tape—TCGL, IONZ, RKLZ, GGLS, TZA—are isolated momentum plays, not a broad bid. Meanwhile, STFS, TXG, and DFSC are stretched to the upside, and extended names in a weak tape are where reversals get violent. With breadth this lopsided and SPY showing no bullish participation, the path of least resistance over the next 60–90 minutes is lower. Bear setups outnumber bulls by roughly 1.35-to-1, and an average SCTR of 5.2 means the typical stock has almost no trend strength to defend itself. Watch for failed rallies to get sold and for the extended names on the list to mean-revert hard.
